Its flesh heals very quickly and minor scratches are not a problem. You could bathe the wound in a mild anteseptic lotion. What should I do, if I find a sick chipmunk or one with a broken leg? Take it to the vet to get examined. If a chipmunk is running around in circles or holding its neck weird it might have a concussion Only a vet can diagnosis it properly. What if I find baby chipmunks? Return them to where you found them. They should be able to find their way home. Young chipmunks are very inquisitive and get into all sort of places. Sometimes a cat or something might have frightened them and then they hide anywhere. Young chipmunks are like young children they try everything, smell everything and investigate everything but frighten very easily.Sometimes they get into situations they do not know how to get out of.
